If you know me at all, and the few of you who read this probably do, I am not usually at a loss for words. I usually have an opinion or at least a comment on just about everything. As I begin the process of starting my photography business and getting all my ducks in a row, I find myself out of answers. I still have my opinion on everything from the death of Michael Jackson to where Michael Vick should play (totally coincidence that they are both named Michael, they were the first two things that I thought of), however I'm just out of good answers. I'm tired and grumpy a lot of the time. I'm always researching and looking for ways to improve my business that has not even begun yet. One of my biggest concerns is my new business blog that is in the making. Although I'm debating whether I should get a fancy-schmancy one right off the bat or use a very plain and basic template, this is not my main concern.
My main concern is topics!! I love posting my photography and giving the story about how I came about to know the people in the photographs, but I need topics that will help people get to know me in between the posts with pictures (obviously I won't be taking pictures every day but once the business is up and rolling my goal is to post every single day for the first year at least). Should I post pictures of me taking pictures of other people? Should I post the goofy pictures of my friends and I dressing up and going to a concert? Should I post pictures of my awesome yet totally unphotogenic dog (he's all black people, it's hard to get shadows and contrast out of solid black)? What?? I need ideas. If you didn't know me, what would you want to know about me as a person or as a photographer? Even if you DO know me, what would you want to know that maybe you've always wondered about? In your own business, especially a business with art, you are really selling yourself as well as your art and I want people to book me not only for my photography but for my sense of humor or my red hair (just a few examples people, don't get too excited).
So go ahead, comment to your heart's content! Please help me get my business going!

Hey friend!
I see your dilemma, so here are my 2 cents. I suggest doing your normal thing for the most part. People will get to know you thru the pics you take, what you write about them, and how you write about them. Maybe don't post anything that a "normal" amateur would post, but definitely post your usually stuff - scenery, people - whatever you feel is your best work. And I think if you post whatever you want, people will get to know you, especially if you have the story behind it and write it amusingly (which I'm sure you'll do just fine).
I hope that helps!!

Must you post between picture posts? I guess I don't know that people need to get to know you past your pictures, after all, its for your professional blog, not a personal one. So stories behind the the pictures you've taken, ways you set up shots, things you learned during shoots, the planning that went into/is going into a shoot, things like that should all be a part of it.
