Salute to the Troops

Our baseball team is rocking my world this year. One of the many things that I like is the Salute the Troops games. Every home Sunday game, the boys will be sporting brand new camo uniforms to pay tribute to past and present soldiers. This last Sunday was the first game and I could not have been prouder of them. A friend of mine, Christine Fischer, has two boys who are both in the military and she is also a Pacific Athletics employee, so they could not have found a better person to throw out the ceremonial first pitch :-) After that, our boys continued to rock their opponent, Houston, which only made this special game better. Here are some of my favorites.
Did I mention that these pictures might get sent to our troops overseas? And one of my pictures might run in the Stockton Record newspaper tomorrow? I'll have to snatch one of the papers tomorrow just in case (I won't get photo credit, the media department will, but I was the only photographer at the game!).
I took a picture of one of our other pitchers a few weeks ago, Tye Davis, that was really similar to this picture, and he uses it as his Facebook profile picture!!! I was so excited to hear that. I've met his dad while out taking pictures, I almost feel like I need to send him a few of his best shots (from me, of course). Here's this last Sunday's starter, Hunter Carnevale.

This is Mark McCain. I am going to start calling him the ringleader because he has been directing the boys in a series of chants from the dugout, and they make me laugh every time. I got to catch them in action this last weekend.

Not sure what the claw is about, but it is one of their chants. I love it boys, keep it up!!

Top two pictures are really cool. And I normally don't like camo uniforms but the UOP ones look really nice.

Ok so clarification here. The weird hand guesturing thing only occurs when there are two balls, two strikes and two outs on the board.

Watch the guys, they'll all shake imaginary dice, blow on it, then roll it out towards the batter.

I'm guessing it works seeing as how most of their runs have come on two outs this year....? haha.
