So last night was our first night in the new house!! It is completely overwhelming but so exciting at the same time. Charlie was boarded until yesterday after work so I picked him up and drove him to the new house. He hadn't seen it yet, and he has never been around stairs so we knew he was in for a big surprise! He was asleep for most of the drive, so I knew he had played hard with the other dogs. He perked up when he noticed that I didn't get off at my usual exit (how do they know these things???) and was jumpy the rest of the way. We got into the new house and he immediately went on a sniffing spree! All over the house. He got up the stairs just fine the first time (he loves to climb, so it's perfect for him) but when we went downstairs he sort of stared at us like he didn't know what to do. He practically scooted on his butt all the way down the stairs to keep from falling. After all the up and down we did yesterday, I know he's got to be a little sore today. He was a good boy once he calmed down, hopefully he realizes this is his home too. He freaked out a little bit when we put him in his crate to run a quick errand but he quickly realized we weren't going to leave him there forever!
Wow, I wanted to write a post about our first night in our new house and all I can talk about is the dog. That's just me I guess!
We have most of our stuff in the new house now, but it is all still in boxes. Tonight the goal is to unpack clothes and kitchen stuff, I think that'll get rid of a lot of the boxes in the living room right now. We can't really unpack everything for the living room itself though, painters come on Monday and we have to either move everything out of the first floor or we have to put it all in the center so they can cover it with a tarp. Either way it doesn't make sense to pack that stuff just yet, plus it saves us some unpacking this weekend which is great. I am DEAD tired and unfortunately I had to work all week. The hubby is home unpacking as we speak, hopefully he'll give us a head start!
Everything is moving along! I'll have pictures once I get my home computer up and running.

New House!!! *happy dance* Ha! Married homeowners...you're adults now! I called it first! Dog + house + ring = Adults. You realize the only way to combat this is to crank the Weird Al to 11, tie a towel around your neck as a cape, and spin and dance until you fall down from uncontrolable giggles, don't you? You must listen to me, after all, two of my initials are D and R and that spells Dr. and that's almost as good as the real thing.
oh man that's exciting.
I seriously laughed imagining Charlie going down the stairs :) He'll get the hang of it soon!
Seriously woman, let me know when you need some help!!
